Forward Lionel Messi showed his concern over the 'several failures' that Argentina's national football team has been 'gathering' for the last years.

"We haven't reached good results with the national team, we keep on collecting failures. I wish that we can begin with a victory against Chile," Barcelona's player said during an interview with Buenos Aires Herald.

Referring to the classification matches for the 2014 World Cup, he assured that "these matches are getting more difficult, because all the teams have the same level and complicate the situation by having a lot of players in the midfield."

The captain of the national team will arrive in the country on Tuesday to get prepared for the matches against Chile and Venezuela for the first two qualifying rounds for Brazil 2014.

Argentina will receive Chile at River Plate's Monumental stadium of Friday and will face Venezuela on Tuesday 11 in Puerto La Cruz.

Referring to the team coached by Claudio Borghi, he said that "it's a team that works a lot and likes to put pressure on their opponents."

He also stated that he is not in conditions to win a match by himself and that results depend on all of his teammates "like it happens in Barcelona," which he referred as "the best team in the world."

The player born in Rosario city ratified that 'it's not good' to compare his performance in the national team with the one he has in his club because sometimes he plays in different positions.

"I just want to have a good performance in the national team. I feel the people's love in the streets and I feel happy when I meet an Argentine and he tells me positive things," he concluded.
